Launch of the Hong Kong Branch of OES

The launch of the Hong Branch of the Oxford Education Society (the first overseas branch of the OES since its launch in Oxford in December 2010) will take place at the Oxford University China Office in Hong Kong on Monday 2nd April from 6.30pm.

The launch will consist of a lecture followed by a reception.

The lecture, entitled Education for the masses or back to education for the privileged few? Issues of equity and participation and implications for Chinese higher education will be delivered by Dr Hubert Ertl Lecturer in Higher Education at the Department of Education, University of Oxford who will be visiting Hong Kong for the specific purpose of helping to launch the OES branch.

The launch event is generously supported by the Hong Kong Institute of Education and has been organised by Professor Rupert MacLean and his colleagues at the Institute. Professor MacLean is an OES member and a Country Champion for China, as a well as a Research Fellow at the Department of Education in Oxford.
