Julia Bowden

Julia Bowden is the Senior Education Executive for the United Church Schools Trust, a leading UK education trust which runs 11 Independent schools and 21 Academies. She is also a founding director of EducentricUK, an education consultancy helping to bring the best insights of business practice into the education sector.

She read Theology at Keble College (1986-1989) and initially worked as a Management Consultant with Andsersen Consulting. In 1993 she took her PGCE with Open University and taught RE and History at a boarding school in Sussex. She then became Head of Department, then Deputy Head at a school in Hampshire, moving to Guildford High school in 2003. In 2009 she left her role as Senior Deputy at Guildford High to complete a full-time International Executive MBA at Henley Business School. She is an ISI inspector and is particularly interested in school strategy and staff engagement.

Through her role with the Oxford Education Society she hopes to extend her network and encourage all those who studied first degrees at Oxford and who are now involved in education in any way to become involved with the work of the University of Oxford Department of Education.
